Omez-40 Tablet is used in conditions where excessive stomach acid causes irritation or damage in adults, easing pain and supporting healing.

Uses of Omez-40 Tablet are:

• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease: Relieves heartburn and acid regurgitation.
• Stomach and Duodenal Ulcers: Supports the healing and prevention of these ulcers.
• Zollinger–Ellison Syndrome: Helps manage this condition of excess acid production.
• H. pylori-Related Ulcer Disease: Used alongside antibiotics to control this bacterial ulcer condition.

• Swallow the medicine whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid chewing, crushing or breaking the tablet.

• Always take this medicine before a meal, ideally in the morning.

• Remember not to exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Omez-40 Tablet is taken orally.

Omez-40 Tablet contains omeprazole (40 mg), which works on your body as follows:

• Proton Pump Inhibition: Omeprazole operates by irreversibly blocking a key enzyme system called the hydrogen/potassium adenosine triphosphatase (the H+/K+ ATPase, or proton pump) located in the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells within your stomach. This enzyme system is responsible for the final stage of acid production.

• Acid Production Reduction: Omeprazole effectively reduces the quantity of acid produced in the stomach by inhibiting the proton pump.

• Store Omez-40 Tablet at room temperature.

• Protect the tablets from light and moisture, ensuring the container is tightly closed.

• Always keep Omez-40 Tablet out of reach of children.

• Use this medicine before its expiry date.

• To manage Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), try to reduce your intake of spicy, fatty and acidic foods, which can trigger heartburn.

• For those with Peptic Ulcer Disease, avoid alcohol and tobacco, as these can worsen your condition.
