Ondem Injection 2ml

Ondem Injection is used in the following conditions:

• Management of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: Chemotherapy medications can trigger the release of serotonin, leading to nausea and vomiting. This injection is highly effective in preventing and treating nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. 
• Management of radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: Similar to chemotherapy, radiation therapy can also cause nausea and vomiting. Ondansetron can help manage these symptoms by inhibiting the effects of serotonin, which is released due to radiation therapy.
• Prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting: This injection prevents nausea and vomiting after surgical procedures.

Ondem Injection is given intravenously.

Ondem Injection contains the following component:

• Ondansetron (2 mg): It is a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonists that acts by blocking specific serotonin receptors in the gut and brain. This prevents the signals that trigger nausea and vomiting. It is very useful in controlling nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy and surgery. 
• By regulating the brain's neurotransmitters, ondansetron helps reduce the feeling of being sick and the urge to vomit, which is especially important for patients undergoing chemotherapy or recovering from surgery.

• Store this injection at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Opt for smaller, more frequent meals and snacks throughout the day to prevent nausea due to an empty stomach.
• Stick to plain foods like crackers, plain rice, and bananas that are easier on the stomach.
• Ensure good food hygiene practices to reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses that could worsen symptoms.
• Spend time in well-ventilated areas with fresh air, as stuffy environments can sometimes worsen nausea.
