Pantocid 20 Tablet 10

Pantocid 20 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing symptoms and promoting healing in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This condition involves stomach acid flowing back into the food pipe, causing heartburn and other discomforts.

• Healing and preventing recurrence of peptic ulcers (painful sores that develop in the lining of the stomach and upper part of the small intestine).

• Controlling excessive acid secretion in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare condition that involves a pancreatic tumour leading to high levels of stomach acid.

Please follow these instructions while taking Pantocid 20 Tablet :

• Swallow this medicine whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Always take this medicine about 30 to 60 minutes before a meal for optimal efficacy.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

Pantocid 20 Tablet is taken orally.

Pantocid 20 Tablet contains pantoprazole (20 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Proton Pump Inhibition: Pantoprazole works by irreversibly blocking an enzyme system in your stomach known as the proton pump or hydrogen potassium adenosine triphosphatase (H+/K+ ATPase). This enzyme is responsible for acid secretion in your stomach.

• Reduction in Stomach Acid: By blocking the proton pump, pantoprazole effectively reduces the amount of acid produced in your stomach. This helps manage symptoms associated with conditions like GERD and promotes healing of ulcers.

• Store Pantocid 20 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 25 degrees Celsius.

• Keep the medicine away from direct light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always keep this medication out of sight and reach of children.

• Ensure to use Pantocid 20 Tablet before the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Incorporate a low-acid diet: Since Pantocid 20 Tablet helps manage acid-related disorders, you might find it beneficial to reduce the intake of food and drinks that trigger your symptoms. This could include spicy foods, citrus fruits, caffeinated beverages, and alcohol.

• Regular exercise: Physical activity can aid digestion and reduce stress, both of which can be beneficial if you're managing conditions like GERD or peptic ulcers with Pantocid 20 Tablet. However, avoid intense workouts that might worsen your stomach discomfort. Always consult your doctor about what kind of exercise is right for you.
