CompositionPentaloc 40 Tablet is used to treat severe heartburn, acid reflux (GERD) and stomach ulcers. It is also used to protect the stomach in people who must take long-term painkillers that might cause bleeding.
It contains pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor. It works by disabling the acid pumps in the stomach lining, which lowers acid production and lets the food pipe and stomach heal from painful erosions.
Take the tablet on an empty stomach, ideally 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast, and swallow it whole without crushing or chewing.
Consult your doctor if you need to take it for more than a few weeks, as long-term use can affect bone strength and vitamin levels.
