Psorid 50 Capsule is used to prevent the body rejecting a transplanted organ and to manage severe autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, severe psoriasis and certain kidney conditions when other treatments have not worked.
It contains ciclosporin, a powerful immunosuppressant. It works by calming the immune system so it does not attack the transplant or the body's own tissues.
Take it consistently at the same time each day as prescribed, and do not change the dose without specialist advice. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice throughout treatment. Regular blood tests for medicine levels, kidney function and blood pressure are essential.
Because it lowers immunity, avoid close contact with people who are unwell, keep up routine vaccinations but avoid live vaccines unless advised, and report any fever or signs of infection. Tell your doctor about any kidney problems or high blood pressure before use. It should not be used in pregnancy unless a specialist advises.
