Revofer Injection is used for the following:

• Managing iron deficiency anaemia in adults who cannot tolerate oral iron therapy.

• Helping adult patients unresponsive to oral iron therapy to regain their iron levels.

• Assisting in the management of anaemia in adults with chronic kidney disease who are undergoing haemodialysis.

• Providing swift iron replenishment in adults needing urgent restoration of iron levels.

Here's how you should administer Revofer Injection:

• It must be administered only by intravenous injection or infusion. Do not use it subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

• The injection can be given undiluted at a slow rate, or it can be mixed with a 0.9% sodium chloride solution and administered as an infusion.

Revofer Injection contains ferric carboxymaltose (50 mg), which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Iron Storage and Transport: The freed iron either enters the intracellular storage iron pool (e.g., ferritin) or binds with plasma transferrin for transportation to erythroid precursor cells.

• Haemoglobin Restoration: Ferric carboxymaltose helps restore haemoglobin levels in patients with iron deficiency anaemia by incorporating into haemoglobin within these cells.
