Ricosprin 2.5 Tablet is used in adults to reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular events when taken together with aspirin.

Uses of Ricosprin 2.5 Tablet are:

• Chronic CAD and PAD: Combined with aspirin to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death.
• Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS): Used with aspirin alone or aspirin plus clopidogrel or ticlopidine, where appropriate, to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events after ACS.

Here's how you should take Ricosprin 2.5 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing it.

• If you find it hard to swallow the tablet whole, you can crush it and mix it with applesauce right before taking it.

• Ensure you don't take more than your doctor has prescribed to you.

• Remember, stopping this medicine without consulting your doctor first could increase your risk of developing blood clots.

Ricosprin 2.5 Tablet contains rivaroxaban (2.5 mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• Inhibition of Factor Xa: Rivaroxaban works by selectively blocking Factor Xa, an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the process of blood clotting.

• Reduction of thrombin formation: By inhibiting Factor Xa, rivaroxaban effectively minimises the formation of thrombin, a key substance in blood clot formation, thereby reducing the chances of clot development.

• Always store Ricosprin 2.5 Tablet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

• The ideal storage temperature is below 30°C.

• To protect from moisture, keep the tablet strip inside its original packaging until it's time to take one.

• Ensure this medicine is kept out of reach of children.

• Don’t forget to use the tablets before the expiry date indicated on the package.

• If you've been prescribed Ricosprin 2.5 Tablet for deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, consider wearing compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs and prevent clots.
