Rivaflo 20 Tablet 10

Rivaflo 20 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE)

• Prevention of DVT and PE recurrence after initial therapy

• Reduction of stroke and systemic embolism risk in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation

• Prophylaxis of DVT and PE in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery

• Prophylaxis of DVT and PE in acutely ill hospitalised patients at risk for thromboembolic complications

• Combined use with aspirin to lower the risk of major cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) or peripheral artery disease (PAD)

Here's how you should take Rivaflo 20 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Always follow your doctor's advice regarding how often to take this medicine.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

• If you have trouble swallowing tablets, you may crush Rivaflo 20 Tablet and mix it with applesauce. Consume this mixture immediately.

Rivaflo 20 Tablet is taken orally.

Rivaflo 20 Tablet contains rivaroxaban (20 mg) which acts on your body as follows:

• Factor Xa Inhibition: Rivaroxaban inhibits an enzyme called factor Xa in your body. This enzyme plays a significant role in blood clot formation.

• Decreases Thrombin Generation: By blocking factor Xa, rivaroxaban effectively reduces the generation of another protein called thrombin which aids in clot formation.

• Prevents Abnormal Blood Clotting: The overall effect of these mechanisms is that rivaroxaban helps prevent the formation of abnormal blood clots, managing conditions like DVT and PE.

• Store your Rivaflo 20 Tablet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

• The ideal storage temperature is below 30°C.

• Minimise exposure to moisture and air.

• Always keep the medicine out of reach of children.

• Make sure to use your medication before its expiry date.

• Maintain a balanced diet low in Vitamin K-rich foods like leafy greens, as they can interfere with how Rivaflo 20 Tablet works to manage blood clotting.

• Regular moderate exercise can help manage conditions like deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism for which Rivaflo 20 Tablet is prescribed. However, consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
