Saaz-DS Tablet is used to manage ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis in adults, and may also be used in Crohn's disease. It reduces inflammation in the bowel or joints and is taken long-term.
It contains sulfasalazine, an anti-inflammatory medicine of the aminosalicylate group. It works by reducing the inflammation that drives these conditions.
Take it with or after food, drink plenty of water, and continue for the full course. Folic acid is often recommended alongside it.
Tell your doctor about any sulfa allergy, kidney, liver or blood problems, or a G6PD deficiency before starting. It may turn the urine or skin orange-yellow, which is harmless. Report a rash, sore throat, unusual bruising or yellowing of the skin.
