CompositionSartel-20 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, particularly in people aged 55 and over who cannot take ACE inhibitor medicines. It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker.
Telmisartan works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows them, which lowers blood pressure and helps protect the heart and blood vessels over time.
Take this tablet as prescribed at the same time each day, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and continue even if you feel well, since high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, as this medicine is not suitable in pregnancy. Have your kidney function and blood potassium checked periodically, and report swelling of the ankles, dizziness or unusual tiredness.
