Sartel Trio Tablet is used to control hypertension by combining telmisartan, cilnidipine, and chlorthalidone. It is used for individuals already responding well to these three medications separately and provides a comprehensive solution for managing blood pressure by targeting multiple mechanisms.

Here's how you should take Sartel Trio Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing it.

• It is advisable to take this medicine at the same time each day for optimal blood pressure control.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without discussing it with your doctor first.

Sartel Trio Tablet is taken orally.

Sartel Trio Tablet is composed of three active ingredients:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): This ingredient is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It selectively blocks angiotensin II from binding to certain receptors in tissues like vascular smooth muscle and adrenal glands. By doing so, it aids in expanding blood vessels, reducing vasopressin secretion, and decreasing aldosterone production, all of which lead to a reduction in blood pressure.

• Cilnidipine (10 mg): Cilnidipine is a dual L-/N-type calcium channel blocker (CCB). It prevents calcium ions from entering vascular smooth muscle cells and neurons. This blocking activity leads to the widening of blood vessels and reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, thereby bringing down blood pressure. Additionally, it inhibits norepinephrine release from sympathetic nerve endings which further lowers blood pressure.

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic. It acts on a part of the kidney called the distal convoluted tubule by reducing sodium and chloride absorption. This leads to increased water and electrolyte excretion, including sodium, potassium and magnesium. As a result, it lowers overall body sodium content and blood volume which in turn decreases cardiac output and peripheral vascular resistance. This ultimately results in reduced blood pressure.

• Store Sartel Trio Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine away from direct light and moisture.
