Semi Reclimet Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults when diet, exercise and one medicine alone are not enough to control blood sugar. It combines gliclazide with metformin, and better blood sugar control helps reduce the risk of long-term complications.
Gliclazide stimulates the pancreas to release insulin in response to meals, while metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity, together lowering blood sugar in two different ways.
Take this tablet with food as your doctor prescribes, to reduce the chance of stomach upset and help reduce the risk of low blood sugar associated with gliclazide, and do not skip meals.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems or drink alcohol regularly. Learn to recognise and treat low blood sugar, and tell your doctor if you develop severe muscle pain, difficulty breathing, or feel very unwell, as these can be signs of a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis.
