Sicriptin 2.5 Tablet is a medicine primarily used to treat hyperprolactinemia (abnormally high levels of prolactin hormone in the blood). It contains Bromocriptine, which belongs to the class of medicines known as dopamine agonists.
By mimicking the action of dopamine in the brain, Sicriptin suppresses excess prolactin production. This helps restore normal menstrual cycles, treat female infertility, stop abnormal breast milk production (galactorrhea), and manage prolactin-secreting pituitary tumors. It is also used as an adjunct in managing Parkinson's disease, acromegaly, and type 2 diabetes.
Take this tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food to minimise nausea and stomach discomfort. Your doctor will typically start with a low dose and gradually increase it to achieve optimal therapeutic results. Do not stop or alter your dosage without consulting your doctor.
Before taking Sicriptin Tablet, inform your doctor if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, severe psychiatric disorders, or liver problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medicine only if explicitly advised by a doctor. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and pituitary status may be required.
