This medicine combines beclometasone, a steroid that reduces inflammation by suppressing chemical messengers that cause redness and itching, with neomycin, an antibiotic that stops bacterial growth by disrupting protein synthesis, and clotrimazole, an antifungal that stops fungal growth by impairing ergosterol production. Together they help relieve itching, redness and inflammation while clearing the underlying infection.
Apply the cream as prescribed by your doctor, avoiding broken skin. Keeping the affected area clean and dry, wearing loose cotton clothing, and avoiding sharing towels or clothing can help prevent the infection from spreading or recurring.
Tell your doctor if you have any known allergy to steroids or antibiotics before starting this cream. Avoid using it on the face or in the groin area unless specifically advised. Report any worsening irritation, thinning of the skin, or spreading of the infection to your doctor.
