CompositionSolvin Cold DS Syrup is used to relieve symptoms of the common cold in children, such as fever, headache, a blocked or runny nose and sneezing. It is a combination medicine containing paracetamol (a fever reducer and pain reliever), phenylephrine hydrochloride (a nasal decongestant) and chlorpheniramine maleate (an antihistamine).
This medicine is also used to ease allergy symptoms such as sneezing, a runny nose and watery eyes. Measure each dose accurately with the device provided and give it as prescribed by the doctor. Do not give more than prescribed, as too much paracetamol can harm the liver.
Keeping your child well hydrated, letting them rest and dressing them in light clothing during fever can help them feel more comfortable.
This medicine should not be used in children below 4 years of age. Before giving it, tell the doctor if your child has liver, kidney, heart or thyroid problems, and about any other medicines your child takes, especially other medicines containing paracetamol or cold remedies. It may cause drowsiness. Contact the doctor if your child has a fast heartbeat, unusual restlessness, or a fever that does not come down. Do not stop giving this medicine unless the doctor advises you to do so.
