CompositionStator F Tablet is used to lower high cholesterol and high triglycerides in adults with mixed dyslipidaemia, when a single medicine is not enough. It is a combination medicine containing atorvastatin 10mg, a statin, and fenofibrate 160mg, a fibrate.
Atorvastatin mainly lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol, while fenofibrate mainly lowers triglycerides and raises HDL (good) cholesterol, giving broader control of blood fats. Take it once a day with food at the same time, as prescribed, and continue even when your levels improve.
A diet low in saturated fat, sugar and refined carbohydrates, limiting alcohol, regular exercise and keeping a healthy weight are important for lowering blood fats.
This combination carries a higher risk of muscle problems than either medicine alone. Do not take it if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, an underactive thyroid, muscle problems, or drink a lot of alcohol, and about other medicines you take, especially blood thinners, ciclosporin and certain antibiotics or antifungals. Your doctor may check your liver and kidney function. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially with fever or dark urine, straight away. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
