Stomacare Muco Adhesive Gel is a gel applied inside the mouth, used to manage painful mouth ulcers. It is a combination medicine containing choline salicylate, which relieves pain and swelling, lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that numbs the area, and benzalkonium chloride, an antiseptic, and belongs to classes of medicines called anti-inflammatory salicylates, local anaesthetics and antiseptics.
This medicine works by reducing swelling and redness, numbing the ulcer and helping prevent bacterial infection in the sore area, which eases burning and makes eating, drinking and speaking easier while the ulcer heals. Apply it to the ulcer as your doctor directs and continue for the prescribed time.
Avoiding spicy, hot or sharp foods and keeping your mouth clean can help ulcers heal more comfortably alongside this treatment.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you are allergic to aspirin or similar medicines, have asthma, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, and check before giving it to children. Tell your doctor about other medicines you use. Check with your doctor if you notice increased irritation, swelling or signs of an allergic reaction.
