CompositionSucrafil O Gel is used to manage acidity, heartburn, gastritis, and stomach and duodenal ulcers. It also helps relieve painful swallowing, for example in people undergoing radiation therapy to the chest or throat.
It contains sucralfate, which forms a protective layer over the stomach lining, and oxetacaine, a local anaesthetic that soothes pain. Shake the suspension well and take it as prescribed, ideally on an empty stomach before meals. Do not take other oral medicines within two hours of this suspension, as it may affect their absorption.
Avoid spicy, acidic and fatty foods, caffeine and alcohol during treatment, as these can aggravate acidity and slow healing. Eat small, regular meals and avoid lying down immediately after eating.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney problems, and about all other medicines you are taking. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before use.
