Suminat 50 Tablet is used to treat acute migraine attacks in adults, reducing severe headache pain and associated symptoms.

Uses of Suminat 50 Tablet are:

• Acute Migraine Attacks: Relieves severe headache pain during an active migraine episode.
• Migraine-Associated Nausea: Helps manage the feeling of sickness that occurs during a migraine.
• Sensory Sensitivity: Reduces extreme sensitivity to light and sound experienced during an attack.

• Swallow the medicine whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Take this medicine at the first sign of a migraine attack.

• If your symptoms persist after two hours, consult your doctor before taking an additional dose.

• Always remember not to exceed the maximum daily limit as advised by your doctor.

Suminat 50 Tablet contains Sumatriptan (50 mg), and it impacts your body in the following ways:

• Serotonin Receptor Activation: Sumatriptan acts on serotonin (5-HT) receptors present in your brain. This action helps to reduce the dilation of blood vessels that typically occurs during a migraine attack.

• Inflammation Reduction: By narrowing the blood vessels in the head, Sumatriptan decreases inflammation and provides relief from pain.

• Blocking Chemical Release: Sumatriptan also blocks the release of certain chemicals in the brain, such as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), substance P and neurokinin A, which contribute to the symptoms of a migraine.

• Regular physical activity can also help manage migraines. Aim for 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week. However, be aware that excessive or abrupt exercise might trigger a migraine. So, start slow and gradually increase your activity level.
