Syncapone 150 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of Parkinson's disease symptoms: This includes issues such as shaking, stiffness, and problems with walking, balance, and coordination.

• Enhanced symptom control in idiopathic Parkinson's disease: The combination of active ingredients in this medicine provides superior symptom management compared to using levodopa and carbidopa alone.

Here's how you should use Syncapone 150 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew it.

• Do not exceed the prescribed dose without your doctor's approval.

Syncapone 150 Tablet has a unique mechanism of action owing to the combined effect of its three active ingredients:

• Carbidopa (37.5 mg): Carbidopa acts as a protector for levodopa. It prevents the breakdown of levodopa in the peripheral tissues (areas outside the brain), allowing more levodopa to reach the brain and convert into dopamine.

• Levodopa (150 mg): Levodopa is converted into dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that sends signals to other nerve cells. In Parkinson's disease, the quantity of dopamine in the brain decreases, causing movement-related issues. Levodopa helps increase dopamine levels, thereby assisting in managing the symptoms.

• Entacapone (200 mg): Entacapone aids in enhancing the bioavailability of levodopa. It inhibits the metabolism of levodopa, meaning more levodopa is available to be converted into dopamine in the brain.
