Tavera M Tablet 10

Tavera-M Tablet is used to relieve abdominal pain, muscle pain, migraine headaches, and dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation). It is effective in managing mild to moderate pain and discomfort associated with functional bowel disorders, inflammation, or muscle/spasmodic conditions.

Here are some guidelines on how to take Tavera-M Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid breaking, crushing, or chewing it.
• The tablet should be taken with meals or immediately after food to minimise stomach discomfort.
• Always consult your doctor if you're unsure of anything related to your medication.

Tavera-M Tablet is taken orally.

Tavera-M Tablet contains two active components:

• Drotaverine (80 mg): This component is an antispasmodic agent which works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase 4 in your body's smooth muscle cells. This inhibition increases cyclic AMP levels and activates protein kinase A, leading to muscle relaxation in the gut and relief from spasms.
• Mefenamic Acid (250 mg): Classified as a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID), mefenamic acid reduces inflammation and pain by inhibiting the enzymes cyclooxygenase 1 and 2. These enzymes contribute to the production of prostaglandins, substances in our body that cause inflammation, pain and fever. By reducing these prostaglandins, mefenamic acid provides analgesic and antiinflammatory effects.

• Store Tavera-M Tablet in a cool, dry place, where the temperature remains below 30°C.
• Shield it from direct sunlight to maintain its effectiveness.
• Keep this medicine away from the reach of children to prevent accidental consumption.
• Always use it before the expiry date mentioned on the pack.

• If you're experiencing abdominal pain related to IBS, consider adding fibre rich foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to your diet. This can help manage symptoms and improve gut health.
• Limit your intake of alcohol. Drinking alcohol while taking this medication might increase your risk of stomach irritation or other gastrointestinal side effects.
