Taxim 500mg Injection 1

Taxim Injection is employed for managing the following conditions:

• Serious respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia

• Urinary tract infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Bone and joint infections

• Infections in the abdominal and pelvic region

• Gynaecological infections

• Gonorrhoea, a sexually transmitted bacterial infection

• Surgical prophylaxis, a preventive measure to ward off possible post-surgical infections

Below are the basic steps for administering Taxim Injection:

• Taxim Injection should be administered by a trained healthcare professional only.

• Always consult your doctor for specific advice on how to use this medicine.

• Dissolve the content in 2 ml of sterile water for the injections provided.

• Once reconstituted, any unused portion of the solution should be discarded.

Taxim Injection is administered intravenously or via an intramuscular route.

Taxim Injection contains cefotaxime (500 mg), which works on your body as follows:

• Inhibits Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefotaxime works by blocking certain enzymes in bacteria called penicillin-binding proteins which play a key role in forming a major component of the bacterial cell wall called peptidoglycan.

• Causes Bacterial Death: By disrupting cell wall synthesis, cefotaxime causes the bacteria to break open (lysis), which ultimately leads to their death. This helps reduce the number of bacteria causing the infection in your body.

• Store Taxim Injection in a cool, dry place where the temperature stays below 30°C.

• Protect it from light and do not expose it to extreme heat or cold.

• Keep it out of sight and reach of children.

• This medicine is for single use only.

• If you are managing a urinary tract infection with Taxim Injection, consider drinking plenty of water to help flush bacteria out of your system.

• For those tackling respiratory tract infections, avoid smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke as these can aggravate your condition and hinder recovery.
