Telmavas-H Tablet is a medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, particularly when treatment with a single medicine is not enough to bring blood pressure under control. It helps lower the risk of long-term complications such as heart attack and stroke.
Telmavas-H Tablet is a combination medicine that contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic ('water tablet'). It is usually taken at the same time each day, with or without food, as advised by your doctor. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Healthy lifestyle changes form an important part of managing high blood pressure. These include regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, reducing salt and saturated fat in your diet, limiting alcohol, and quitting smoking. Drinking enough water is also important, as this medicine increases urine output.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, diabetes, gout, low blood pressure, or are taking other medicines. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Regular blood tests may be needed to check your kidney function, potassium, and sodium levels.
