Telmisartan (40 mg): This ingredient is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It selectively binds to what is known as the AT1 receptor. By doing so, it blocks the effects of angiotensin II that cause vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels) and secretion of aldosterone (a hormone that regulates salt and water balance). This leads to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), a decrease in vascular resistance (resistance that must be overcome to push blood through the circulatory system), and a reduction in blood pressure.

Pregnancy

Telmed Beta 50 Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, as it may harm the foetus. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding women should steer clear of Telmed Beta 50 Tablet. It's best to consult your doctor to understand the potential risks and benefits.
