Telpres Trio Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing essential hypertension: This medicine helps lower high blood pressure.

• Controlling blood pressure in adults: It's prescribed to those whose blood pressure isn't adequately controlled on two of the individual components or previously stabilised on the triple combination.

Here's how to take Telpres Trio Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take it with or without food.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Telpres Trio Tablet is a combination medicine containing three active compounds that work together to manage hypertension. Here's how each component does its job:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): This component acts as an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in various tissues, such as your vascular smooth muscle and adrenal gland. As a result, there's a decrease in vasoconstriction, aldosterone secretion, and blood pressure.

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): As a thiazide-like diuretic, Chlorthalidone inhibits the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the distal convoluted tubule of your kidney. This action increases the excretion of water and electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, chloride, and magnesium, leading to a reduction in plasma volume and blood pressure.

• Cilnidipine (10 mg): This is a long-acting, dihydropyridine-based calcium channel blocker. It inhibits the influx of calcium ions through L-type voltage-gated calcium channels in your vascular smooth muscle cells. This action results in vasodilation and decreased peripheral vascular resistance. In addition, Cilnidipine also exhibits N-type calcium channel-blocking activity, which contributes to its anti-sympathetic effects and renoprotective properties.
