Telvas Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. It helps relax blood vessels to improve blood flow and may help reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney damage, particularly in patients with diabetes.

Here's how you should take Telvas 40 Tablet:

• Swallow it whole with some water. Avoid breaking, crushing or chewing it.
• It can be taken with or without food.
• Aim to take your medicine at the same time every day to maximise its effectiveness.
• Never alter the dosage yourself; consult your doctor if you feel a change is needed.
• Don't discontinue use abruptly; always speak to your doctor first.

Telvas 40 Tablet contains Telmisartan (40 mg). Here's how it works:

• Angiotensin II Blockage: Telmisartan effectively blocks the action of an angiotensin II hormone. This hormone is responsible for causing blood vessels in your body to constrict, which can raise your blood pressure.
• Vasodilation: By blocking angiotensin II, Telmisartan triggers a process known as vasodilation. This is a fancy term for widening blood vessels, which helps improve blood flow and lower blood pressure.
