Thyrox 100 Tablet is a medicine used to manage hypothyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. It replaces the missing hormone to help restore normal energy levels, mental alertness, and overall metabolic balance.
It contains levothyroxine, a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone T4. Take it on an empty stomach, preferably first thing in the morning at least 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast, as prescribed by your doctor. Continue taking it regularly, as thyroid replacement therapy is usually lifelong. Do not stop taking it without medical advice.
Maintaining a consistent daily schedule for medication and food intake is important for steady hormone levels. Certain foods, soy products, high-fibre diets, and calcium or iron supplements can interfere with medicine absorption, so discuss dietary timing with your doctor.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or adrenal gland problems. Dosage adjustments are made based on periodic blood tests (TSH levels). Contact your doctor if you notice symptoms such as a rapid heart rate, sweating, chest pain, or excessive weight loss.
