Thyrox-62.5 Tablet is used to manage hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone, in adults and children. It contains levothyroxine, a synthetic form of thyroid hormone that restores normal hormone levels in the body.
It is also used to manage certain thyroid disorders, including some types of goitre and, under specialist care, thyroid cancer. Take this tablet by mouth on an empty stomach, at least thirty minutes before breakfast, as prescribed, and swallow it whole. Continue taking it regularly, even if you feel well.
Taking this medicine at the same time each day, avoiding taking it together with calcium or iron supplements, and attending regular thyroid function tests help ensure your dose remains correct and effective.
Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, adrenal gland problems, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, before starting this medicine. Report any chest pain, a rapid or irregular heartbeat, excessive sweating, or unexplained weight loss to your doctor promptly, as these may mean your dose needs adjusting.
