It is a single-ingredient medicine containing isoxsuprine, and belongs to a class of medicines called vasodilators.
Raynaud's phenomenon is a condition in which blood flow to the fingers, toes and ears is restricted, and Buerger's disease affects the blood vessels of the limbs. This medicine helps restore blood flow to the extremities and reduce pain. It is also used in obstetric care to help delay premature labour in certain cases. Take it with or without food, or with meals or milk if it upsets your stomach. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Staying warm, avoiding cold exposure of the hands and feet, and quitting smoking can help support circulation alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor if you have a history of bleeding disorders, a recent heart attack, heart disease, low blood pressure or severe anaemia before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take, especially those that lower blood pressure. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. As this medicine can cause a mild drop in blood pressure, rise slowly when standing up. Report chest pain or severe dizziness, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
