Topaz 50 Tablet is used for the long-term control of epilepsy and the prevention of migraine headaches in adults and children, helping reduce the frequency and severity of attacks.

Uses of Topaz 50 Tablet are:

• Epilepsy: Helps control focal and generalised seizures in adults and children, including those with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.
• Migraine Prevention: Reduces how often migraine headaches occur in adults when taken regularly as prescribed.

Follow these instructions while taking Topaz-50 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• Take this medicine with or without food as per your comfort.
• It's important not to stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor first.

Topaz-50 Tablet contains topiramate (50 mg), which acts in the body through several key mechanisms:

• Sodium Channel Blocking: Topiramate blocks sodium channels in your brain. These channels play a vital role in transmitting signals in nerve cells. By blocking these channels, topiramate helps to reduce the spread of seizure activity.
