Topaz 50 Tablet is used for epilepsy and migraine prevention.

Uses of Topaz 50 Tablet are:

• Epilepsy: Controls focal and generalised seizures in adults and children.
• Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome: Helps control seizures in this condition.
• Migraine Prevention: Reduces how often migraines occur in adults.

Follow these instructions while taking Topaz-50 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• Take this medicine with or without food as per your comfort.
• It's important not to stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor first.

Topaz-50 Tablet is taken orally.

Topaz-50 Tablet contains topiramate (50 mg), which acts in the body through several key mechanisms:

• Sodium Channel Blocking: Topiramate blocks sodium channels in your brain. These channels play a vital role in transmitting signals in nerve cells. By blocking these channels, topiramate helps to reduce the spread of seizure activity.

• Enhancing GABA Activity: GABA is a substance in your brain that has calming effects on nerve cells. Topiramate enhances the activity of GABA, which helps to calm neuronal excitation.
