Toujeo 300iu Cartridges are used for the following:

• Managing blood glucose in adult patients with type 1 diabetes

• Controlling blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes

To use Toujeo 300iu Cartridges correctly, follow these instructions:

• This injection is administered subcutaneously or under the skin.

• Always administer at the same time each day.

• Before using, make sure the solution is clear and colourless. Do not use it if you see particles or if it appears cloudy.

• Never mix or dilute this medicine with any other insulin or solution.

Toujeo 300iu Cartridges are administered subcutaneously.

Toujeo 300iu Cartridges contain two active ingredients:

• Insulin Glargine (300 units/ml): This human insulin analogue has been designed to have a low solubility at neutral pH. Once administered, it forms microprecipitates in the subcutaneous tissue. From these micro-precipitates, small quantities of insulin glargine are continually released. This process provides a smooth, peakless, predictable concentration and duration of action. It aids in reducing blood glucose levels by promoting glucose uptake, especially in skeletal muscles and fat, and by inhibiting hepatic glucose production.

• M-cresol (0.27%): This ingredient acts as an antimicrobial preservative to prevent bacterial contamination during use.

• Store Toujeo 300iu Cartridges in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C.

• Keep away from light.

• Do not freeze. Discard if frozen.

• Once opened, store at room temperature, below 30°C.

• Use within 28 days of opening.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date before use.
