"Travatan Ophthalmic Solution is used to lower intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It contains Travoprost, a prostaglandin analogue that works by increasing the natural drainage (outflow) of aqueous humor from the eye. By reducing internal eye pressure, the solution protects the optic nerve from damage and helps prevent irreversible vision loss.
The drops are typically applied once daily, preferably in the evening, to maintain consistent pressure control. It is important to remove contact lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. Be aware that long-term use may cause gradual changes in eyelash growth or iris pigmentation, which should be discussed with your ophthalmologist."
