Tresiba Penfill Injection is used for the following health conditions:

• Management of type 1 diabetes mellitus

• Control of blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus

• Ensure the injection site is clean and dry.

• Inject the medicine under the skin (subcutaneously) as directed by your doctor.

• Rotate the injection sites within the same region to avoid skin changes.

Tresiba Penfill Injection contains a single active ingredient, Insulin Degludec (100 IU). Here's how it works:

• Formation of Multi-Hexamers: Upon subcutaneous injection, insulin degludec forms soluble multi-hexamers, creating a depot of insulin in the subcutaneous tissue.

• Gradual Monomer Separation: The insulin degludec monomers slowly separate from the multi-hexamers.

• Slow, Continuous Insulin Release: These separated monomers provide a slow, continuous insulin release into the bloodstream.

• Flat and Stable Glucose-Lowering Effect: This process results in a flat and stable glucose-lowering effect, helping to manage blood glucose levels effectively.

• Extended Duration of Action: The mechanism enables flexible once-daily dosing, with a duration of action extending beyond 42 hours.

• Store Tresiba Penfill Injection in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C before its first use.

• After opening, you can keep it at room temperature, below 30°C, for up to 8 weeks.
