Tresiba Penfill Injection is used to manage diabetes mellitus in adults, adolescents and children aged 1 year and above. It helps control blood sugar levels throughout the day and night.
It contains insulin degludec, an ultra-long-acting insulin. It is given as an injection under the skin (subcutaneously), as directed by your doctor, and can be used alone or together with other diabetes medicines. Take it at around the same time each day for steady control.
Regular blood sugar monitoring, along with a balanced diet and regular physical activity, supports better control alongside this medicine. Carry a fast-acting source of sugar with you in case of low blood sugar episodes.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor about any pre-existing conditions or other medicines you take. Learn to recognise the signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), such as shakiness, sweating and confusion. Do not stop or change your insulin dose without consulting your doctor.
