Tricaine MPS Gel is an antacid and antiflatulent combination medicine used to manage hyperacidity, heartburn, stomach ulcers, and digestive discomfort in adults. It provides relief from burning sensations in the chest and stomach, indigestion, sour stomach, and abdominal fullness caused by excess gas.
It contains antacid compounds along with simethicone. Shake the bottle well before each use and take it as prescribed by your doctor, usually after meals and at bedtime. Take it as directed without mixing it with other liquids unless advised, to ensure effective coating of the stomach lining.
Dietary habits play a crucial role in acid management. Eat smaller, regular meals, avoid lying down immediately after eating, and limit spicy, greasy, or acidic foods, caffeinated beverages, and alcohol. Quitting smoking can also help reduce reflux symptoms.
Before using this gel, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, high magnesium or aluminium levels, severe constipation, or heart failure. Since antacids can affect the absorption of other oral medications, take other medicines at least 2 hours before or after taking this gel. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
