CompositionValzaar 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to lower the risk of related problems such as stroke and heart attack. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing valsartan, and belongs to a class of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs).
This medicine is also used to manage heart failure and to improve survival after a heart attack. Take it as prescribed and continue regularly even if you feel well. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Cutting down on salt, eating plenty of fruit and vegetables, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support blood pressure and heart treatment alongside this medicine.
This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure or high potassium levels before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Your doctor may check your kidney function and potassium levels. Report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly or unless your doctor advises you to do so.
