CompositionVertistar-MD 8 Tablet is used to manage symptoms of Ménière's disease, including vertigo, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), hearing loss and problems with balance. It helps improve blood flow within the inner ear, easing dizziness and helping restore a sense of balance.
It contains betahistine. This is a mouth-dissolving tablet that can be placed on the tongue and taken without water, which can be helpful if you feel nauseated. Take it as prescribed, and continue treatment for as long as your doctor advises to help keep symptoms under control.
During episodes of vertigo, sit or lie down until the dizziness passes and avoid sudden head movements. Limiting salt in your diet may also help reduce fluid build-up in the inner ear.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, asthma, or a rare adrenal gland tumour called phaeochromocytoma. Contact your doctor if you develop a skin rash or a persistent headache while taking this medicine.
