Viscodyne-D Syrup is used in adults and children to manage dry cough and allergy-related symptoms linked to the common cold and upper respiratory conditions.

Uses of Viscodyne-D Syrup are:

• Dry Cough: Relieves dry cough associated with throat irritation, including night-time and post-operative cough.
• Allergy Symptoms: Eases sneezing and a runny nose caused by the common cold or allergies.
• Hay Fever: Relieves symptoms of hay fever or upper respiratory allergies, such as itchy, watery eyes and itching of the nose and throat.

To use Viscodyne-D Syrup correctly, follow these steps:

• Use a special dose-measuring spoon or cup to measure the correct quantity of syrup.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Ensure you drink extra fluids while taking this medicine to help loosen congestion and soothe your throat.

• Remember to cap the bottle properly after use.

• This medicine is sugar-based, so if you have diabetes, consult your doctor before taking it.

Viscodyne-D Syrup is taken orally.

Viscodyne-D Syrup contains two active ingredients:

• Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (10 mg): Known as a cough suppressant, dextromethorphan acts on a part of your brain known as the cough centre. This action helps reduce the urge to cough, providing relief from dry or tickly coughs.

• Chlorpheniramine Maleate (2 mg): This is an antihistamine that works by blocking a substance in your body called histamine H1 receptor. Histamine is normally released when you have an allergic reaction and causes symptoms like sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. By blocking histamine, chlorpheniramine maleate helps reduce these symptoms.

• Store Viscodyne-D Syrup at room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.

• Avoid exposure to light and moisture.

• Keep the syrup in a secure place, out of reach of children.

• Limit your exposure to allergens such as dust mites or pollen, which could trigger symptoms that Viscodyne-D Syrup is used to manage.
