CompositionXarelto 20 Tablet is used to prevent and treat dangerous blood clots, including clots in the deep veins (DVT) and lungs (pulmonary embolism), and to reduce the risk of stroke in people with an irregular heart rhythm (atrial fibrillation).
It contains rivaroxaban, an anticoagulant that thins the blood. It works by blocking a key step in the blood-clotting process.
Take it with the evening meal as prescribed, and do not stop it without medical advice, as stopping suddenly raises the risk of a serious clot.
Take care to reduce bleeding: use a soft toothbrush, take care with sharp objects, and tell any doctor or dentist you take it before any procedure. Tell your doctor about any bleeding problems, or liver or kidney disease. It is not suitable in pregnancy. Report unusual or serious bleeding.
