Yamini Tablet 21

Yamini Tablet is used as a hormonal contraceptive to prevent pregnancy and to manage menstrual cycle irregularities, acne, and PMDD symptoms in women.

Uses of Yamini Tablet are:

• Contraception: An effective oral birth control method to prevent pregnancy when taken consistently.
• Menstrual Regulation: Helps regulate irregular periods and makes them lighter and less painful.
• PMDD and Acne Management: Helps manage the emotional and physical symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and moderate acne.

• Take the prescribed dose of a tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day.
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. 
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• Take the tablet with or without food.

Yamini Tablet should be taken orally.

The components of Yamini Tablet are as follows:

• Drospirenone (3 MG): It is a synthetic progestin component in this medication. It functions by mimicking the actions of natural progesterone. Drospirenone primarily exerts its contraceptive effect by suppressing ovulation, preventing the release of mature eggs from the ovaries. This mechanism inhibits fertilization by sperm. Additionally, drospirenone alters the cervical mucus, making it thicker and less permeable to sperm, hindering their ability to reach and fertilize the egg. Furthermore, it modifies the uterine lining, making it less receptive to implantation by a fertilized egg, should fertilization occur. 
• Ethinyl estradiol (0.03 MG): It is a synthetic estrogen component in this medication. It works synergistically with drospirenone to provide contraceptive efficacy. Ethinyl estradiol primarily functions by suppressing the release of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland, which in turn inhibits the development and maturation of follicles in the ovaries. This helps prevent the release of mature eggs during the menstrual cycle, complementing the ovulation-inhibiting action of drospirenone.

• Store the medication at room temperature (15-25ºC).
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep the tablets out of the reach of children.
• Do not use the medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Some birth control pills can slightly decrease calcium absorption. Consider increasing your calcium intake through dietary sources or supplements if advised by your doctor to maintain healthy bone density.
• If you smoke, it's advisable to quit or at least reduce your smoking while on birth control pills. Smoking increases the risk of cardiovascular side effects associated with hormonal contraceptives.
• Excessive alcohol and recreational drug use can affect your ability to take your birth control pills consistently. It's best to minimise these habits.
• Engage in regular physical activity, maintain a balanced diet, and manage stress to support overall health and well-being.
• Attend regular check-ups with your doctor to monitor your overall health and discuss any concerns related to your birth control or general well-being.
