Zefretol 400 Tablet is used for the following:

Here are some guidelines for taking Zefretol 400 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Take your medicine regularly at the same time each day to maintain its effect.

• Avoid stopping this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Zefretol 400 Tablet is taken orally.

The active component in Zefretol 400 Tablet is eslicarbazepine (400 mg). This component works in the following ways:

• Sodium Channel Stabilisation: Eslicarbazepine stabilises the inactive state of voltage-gated sodium channels in neurons. This makes them less excitable, reducing the risk of repetitive firing that can lead to seizures.

• Modulation of Calcium and Potassium Channels: Eslicarbazepine may also modulate the activity of certain calcium and potassium channels. These channels play a critical role in neuronal signalling, and their modulation provides an additional mechanism for seizure control.

• Preserve Zefretol 400 Tablet at room temperature below 30°C.
