CompositionZempred 8 Tablet is used to manage inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including severe allergies, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and certain skin, eye, blood and bowel conditions. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing methylprednisolone, and belongs to a class of medicines called corticosteroids.
This medicine calms an overactive immune system and gives relief during flare-ups of chronic conditions. Take it at the same time each day as prescribed. The dose usually needs to be reduced gradually when stopping, to avoid withdrawal effects. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Eating a balanced diet with limited salt and sugar and enough calcium and vitamin D, and staying physically active, can help reduce some effects of longer steroid use.
Tell your doctor about any infection, diabetes or high blood pressure before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Longer use can raise the risk of infection, high blood pressure and high blood sugar. Report signs of infection or mood changes, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly or unless your doctor advises you to do so.
