Zolmist Nasal Spray is used for the following:

• Providing relief during acute migraine attacks with aura: Aura refers to specific warning signs, such as visual disturbances that occur just before the onset of a migraine.

• Alleviating symptoms during acute migraine attacks without aura: An attack without aura is a migraine that comes on suddenly without any preceding signs.

To use Zolmist Nasal Spray effectively, follow these steps:

• Clear your nose gently before using the spray.

• Close one nostril by pressing gently against the side of your nose.

• Place the tip of the spray device into the other nostril.

• Breathe gently through your nose as you press down on the plunger to release the spray.

• After administering the spray, keep your head tilted back slightly and breathe softly through your mouth for 5 to 10 seconds.

Zolmist Nasal Spray is administered via the intranasal route.

Zolmist Nasal Spray contains Zolmitriptan (5 mg), which works on your body as follows:

• Cranial Vessel Constriction: Zolmitriptan binds with high affinity to human 5-HT1D and 5-HT1B receptors located on intracranial blood vessels. This action leads to the constriction of these vessels, which helps in providing relief during a migraine attack.

• Inhibition of Pro-Inflammatory Neuropeptide Release: Zolmitriptan also inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory neuropeptides from sensory nerve endings. These neuropeptides are involved in pain transmission and their inhibition helps in managing the pain associated with migraines.

• Affecting Certain Nerves in the Brain: Zolmitriptan may relieve pain by affecting certain nerves in the brain, thus aiding in the management of acute migraines.

• Keep Zolmist Nasal Spray stored under 25°C.

• Protect this medicine from light and moisture.

• Ensure that the product is out of reach of children.

• Use the nasal spray before its expiry date.

• Certain foods can trigger migraines, so try to identify and avoid them. Common culprits include aged cheese, chocolate, and foods containing monosodium glutamate (MSG).
