Zoxan Eye/Ear Drops are used for treating superficial bacterial infections of the eye and ear in adults and children.

Uses of Zoxan Eye/Ear Drops are:

• Bacterial Eye Infections: Treats conjunctivitis, keratitis, and blepharitis to relieve redness, irritation, and discharge.
• Bacterial Ear Infections: Cleanses bacterial infection of the outer ear canal and reduces pain and swelling.

To properly use Zoxan Eye/Ear Drops, follow these steps:

• Ensure your hands are clean before you handle the medicine.

• Gently tilt your head back and lower your eyelid to create a pocket.

• Holding the dropper above your eye, lightly squeeze it to release one or two drops into the pocket.

• Close your eyes and apply light pressure to the inner corner for a minute or two. This will help keep the medicine from draining out.

• If both eyes are affected, repeat for the other eye.

Zoxan Eye/Ear Drops contain two active components:

• Ciprofloxacin (0.3%): As a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent, ciprofloxacin works by inhibiting specific bacterial enzymes called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are important for bacterial DNA replication and repair. By blocking these processes, ciprofloxacin effectively kills the bacteria causing the eye infection.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.01%): This component serves as an antimicrobial preservative in the solution. Benzalkonium Chloride is a quaternary ammonium compound that acts as a biocide, exhibiting bactericidal properties. It functions by disrupting the cell membranes of microorganisms, causing leakage of cellular contents and ultimately leading to cell death.

• Store Zoxan Eye/Ear Drops at room temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep away from direct light to maintain the medicine's effectiveness.

• Ensure the container is tightly sealed when not in use to prevent exposure to air.

• Keep the medicine out of reach of children for safety.
