Glyxambi 25 mg/ 5 mg Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

• Improvement of blood sugar control in adults

• Part of a comprehensive diabetes management programme

• Prevention or delay of long-term, serious health problems related to diabetes, such as cardiovascular disease, kidney damage, nerve issues and vision loss

When using Glyxambi 25 mg/ 5 mg Tablet, you should proceed as follows:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• It can be taken with or without food.

• Try to take the medicine at the same time each day for consistency.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Glyxambi 25 mg/ 5 mg Tablet is taken orally.

Glyxambi 25 mg/ 5 mg Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Empagliflozin (25 mg): As a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, empagliflozin works by reducing glucose reabsorption in your kidneys. This results in increased excretion of excess glucose through urine, thus helping to lower blood sugar levels. By doing so, empagliflozin also promotes modest weight loss and blood pressure reduction.

• Linagliptin (5 mg): This dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor increases the levels of certain hormones that stimulate your pancreas to produce more insulin when blood sugar is high and reduce glucagon secretion when it's not needed.
