The Torglip 50 Tablet is used for the following:

• Helping to control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes

• Enhancing the effects of diet and exercise in managing type 2 diabetes

• Use as a standalone therapy when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate blood sugar control

• Use in combination with other antidiabetic medicines such as metformin, a sulfonylurea, or a thiazolidinedione to improve glycemic control

Here's how you take Torglip 50 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not chew or crush the tablet.

• You can take this medicine either before or after meals.

Torglip 50 Tablet contains vildagliptin (50 mg), which acts on the body through certain mechanisms:

• DPP-4 Inhibition: Vildagliptin blocks an enzyme called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) that's responsible for breaking down certain hormones called incretins.

• Increase in Active Incretins: By inhibiting DPP-4, vildagliptin boosts active incretin levels, prompting the pancreas to produce more insulin when blood glucose is high.

• Suppression of Glucagon Secretion: Vildagliptin also helps decrease glucose production by the liver by reducing glucagon secretion. These mechanisms work collectively to regulate and maintain blood sugar levels.

• Keep your Torglip 50 Tablet in a dry place, shielded from moisture.

• Store it at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Ensure it is not exposed to direct light or heat sources.

• Keep the medicine away from children's reach.
